The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $97,300.00 - $175,200.00

Job Description

Job Profile Summary:

The Senior Manager, Web Operations defines the direction and purpose of digital content. As a product owner and a people leader within the marketing and website teams, this role works as a strategic partner to all departments throughout the university and is responsible for the communication and promotion of the website content strategy. This role seeks to understand the content and messaging needs of individual groups and defines, researches, and develops content solutions for those needs.

The primary focus of the Senior Manager, Web Operations is the visitor to the university's web properties. Through constant monitoring the incumbent will lead new initiatives and test new approaches that delight the visitor of our websites. The Web Operations Senior Manager also acts as a partner with internal stakeholders to achieve department and university goals. This role manages a team of content curators and works closely with university development teams, content strategist and digital writers to continuously improve website performance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

* Act as the internal champion for the visitors to our websites, understand their goals and focus on ways to serve them better.

* Support content managers and creative partners with innovative ways to launch campaigns through website distribution.

* Inspire and Develop team members to achieve university and team goals.

* Work with cross-functional partners across teams to identify ways to reach goals supported through the website.

* Define the content strategy for web and strive for clear and concise content campaigns across applicable digital touch points.

* Constantly monitor site performance to define enhancements that will improve performance toward goal achievement.

* Create processes that ensure timely and accurate updates of content on site.

* Work with the design team, product management and development teams in defining requirements for new development requests.

* Strive for continual innovation in the operation and functionality of web tools.

* Continual collaboration with conversion team to appropriately test changes and measure success.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Leadership and Talent Management:

* Manages a team of professionals. Manages the work of assigned employees and/or supervisors who generally exercise some latitude and independence in their assignments.

* Ensures proper training of team members, and actively participates in hiring, firing, and promotion decisions. Conducts performance reviews and recommends salary reviews.

* Primarily achieves goals through leading a team.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years specific experience in Web Operations which generally includes a minimum of 3 years leading a team.

* Requires significant management knowledge to lead the department. Generally, has advanced level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the University.

Department Specific Minimum Qualifications:

* Understanding of web platforms (Content Management Systems, Forms, A/B Testing Solutions, Databases, Analytics, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

* MBA

* Experience with AEM and Adobe Analytics a plus

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
