TITLE: Winder Operator B POSITION OBJECTIVE: Reports to Extruder Technician in supporting Flexpack Department operations and to produce the highest quality product meeting the customer specifications. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical aptitude desirable.
- Six months previous production experience required.1-year production line experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all written and verbal safety rules, SQF (Food Safety) and procedures.
- Keeps all assigned work areas clean and safe.
- Reports to Extruder Technicians on production status.
- Responsible with Extruder Technician for meeting or exceeding production standards.
- Assist Extruder Technician on set ups or changeovers, as required.
- Assist in training new personnel and shares workload, as needed.
- Must be able to read and understand production instructions.
- Must be able to understand and fill out production ticket correctly.
- Must be able to load and unload winder correctly.
- Must know winder control panel and operate controls correctly.
- Must know slit seal operation and safety: control panel, adjustments, cleaning.
- Must know proper thread up of entire line: tower, press, bag machine, and winder.
- Must know film, print and packaging quality checks.
- Monitors production and packaging equipment and operates in accordance to instructions.
- Must know and perform proper packing, stacking, and labeling techniques.
- Must know proper cutting and lifting techniques and perform each safely.
- Must know basic knowledge of bag making process and be able to explain.
- Pass all Master training courses with minimum score of 80.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by Sr. Lead/Supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
- Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.
- Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
