Optum Behavioral Care (OBC) is a rapidly growing business within UnitedHealth Group.OBC seeks to deliver high-value and efficient behavioral health systems that can be scaled nationally, and the company will continue to grow rapidly over the next 5 years.OBC is building and scaling the premier national behavioral health system for health systems, payers, state programs, and beyond.

OBC is seeking candidates to serve asa Manager, Client Delivery. In this role, you will own market-specific and/or product-specific implementations, critical client relationships, and have ultimate accountability for the execution and success of the programs.

You will also serve as a key team member on essential OBC operational infrastructure projects, as we continue to grow and scale our organization.The Manager, Client Delivery role is critical to helping scope, plan and execute deliverables that enable projects to launch on time and on budget. The Manager, Client Delivery will work under the guidance of the Director of Client Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Define and scope product & market-specific implementation plans, leveraging broader OBC strategy and Client Delivery playbooks to ensure consistency
  • Implement and scale the OBC high-value and efficient behavioral health system(s) in multiple regional markets
  • Lead client relationships across various levels of the client organization throughout the implementation stage
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage risks associated with implementation and operations projects
  • Transition implementation work into run-state Customer Success by aggregating key implementation artifacts and onboarding Client Delivery peer(s) to the work, the client relationship, and initial recommendations for continued partnership
  • Identify and manage key learnings from implementations, working closely with OBC Client Delivery peers and partners to apply across other markets
  • With support from the Director of Client Delivery, lead the storytelling and communication for market implementation and key operations projects. Regularly "tell the story" of your project progress and success via key messaging to critical stakeholder audiences
  • Work effectively with other business and support units across United Health Group (UHG), because the work of OBC must be deeply integrated with other businesses, initiatives, and resources across UHG
  • Successful candidates for the Manager, Client Delivery will play a lead role in stakeholder management, key messaging, and storytelling. The candidates also will have experience with the Primary Care industry, demonstrated experience managing all aspects of large and complex projects, with a proven track record of achieving results

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of business operations experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • 3+ Project Management experience, with demonstrated success of using project management tools (ex. project plans, stakeholder plans)
  • 3+ years of experience leading complex projects of at least $500,000
  • Experience with the primary care industry
  • Experience with using financial plans, data flows and reporting to drive discussion, prioritization and decision
  • Experience accomplishing work through others and inspiring others through times of ambiguity
  • Experience of leveraging data and insights to drive business outcomes, including identifying risks and mitigation tactics
  • Experience communicating with and influencing the thinking of C-Suite executives
  • Experience with cross-functional, system thinking leadership and execution of complex, organization-wide initiatives. Includes driving functional dependencies outside of immediate control to align to joint objectives
  • Experience delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizations
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects to ensure their quality and on-time delivery
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills. Exceptional organization and attention to detail



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Behavioral care and provider operations experience

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
