Position Summary |
The Human Resources Coordinator will serve as part of the Human Resources Team in the Terry College of Business. This position is responsible for human resources functions in the College and serves as the backup for the HR and
OFA Liaison. This position applies, communicates, and promotes human resources procedural best practices in hiring, position management, and general HR support of all position levels for the college. This position ensures work and activities are ethically compliant related to confidentiality, security of information, and fiscal accountability. The Human Resources Coordinator is knowledgeable of university policies and procedures and ensures all aspects of the human resources function are focused on providing a user-friendly, positive culture of customer service, good communication, attention to detail and policy, efficiency, timeliness and continuous improvement. |

Support departments in employee lifecycle of faculty, staff and students
- Perform all actions in UGAJobs to process and maintain Terry College positions and position postings for new hires, promotions, and transfers
- Advise College hiring units on the hiring processes for both faculty and staff, communicate current policies, posting requirements, pre-employment background investigations, offer letters, and UGA Onboarding.
- Manage college level UGAJobs actions including reclassifications, replacements, and new positions.
- Conduct thorough job analyses to accurately classify new and updated positions and determine exempt or non-exempt status.
- Review position updates to ensure alignment with job responsibilities and organizational changes on an annual basis.
- Assist candidates through hiring process.
- Establish and maintain best practices.

Support employment and compensation functions
- Provide guidance to units and departments on all HR functions.
- Manage staff salary action requests for budgetary and organizational. compliance, appraise need, and make recommendations to leadership.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information regarding policies, job duties, working conditions, compensation, opportunities for promotion, etc.
- Provide unit and department heads with information on exit interviews and separation notices upon employee termination or retirement.
- Facilitate classification changes for Affordable Care Act or USG compliance.
- Coordinate with departments on hiring international staff in conjunction with the Office of International Education regarding visa requirements.
- Initiate and track DocuSign signature routing for human resources documentation and forms.

Provide information on UGA HR resources
- Work closely with the Director of HR and Senior Director for Finance & Administration to provide guidance and support for a variety of employee relations needs Escalate employee relations issues to the Director of Human Resources when appropriate.
- Support employees during annual open enrollment.
- Consult with employees regarding FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, , Teleworking, Shared Leave, etc. and facilitate communication with UGA HR.
- Maintain proficiency and remain up-to-date on UGA policies and procedures and proactively communicate to college stakeholders.
- Identify areas of concern with policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Work with TCB supervisors to design and implement periodic training programs for supervisors and employees.
- Promote opportunities for professional development for staff.
- Provide department staff with training and information on policies and procedures.

Other projects, tasks and duties as deemed necessary
- Participate in efforts to engage, learn, and develop this role by attending any recommended or required department, college, or university trainings or meetings.
- Assist others within the Terry College Office of Finance and Administration and in other departments within the college in support of projects and coverage as needed and when others are away from the office.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college, UGA, USG, state and federal policies and procedures, and serve as resource to Terry College HR team as applicable.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Above is not all-inclusive and the employee is expected to multi-task and respond on short notice throughout the workday to situations and issues that arise and need immediate action or attention.
