Job Description |
Reads blueprints, specifications, and work orders to assess work required and to determine
most appropriate preparation and application methods to use.
Applies primer, paint, stain, varnish and other finishes t multi-surfaces such as concrete, metal
glass, wood, vinyl, sheetrock and plaster with sprayers, rollers and brushes.
Cleans, scrapes and prepares surfaces to ensure paint and other finishes will adhere properly.
Fills and smooth's holes, cracks, and joints with durabond, caulk, and compounds.
Must possess ability to tape and finish drywall for special projects as needed.
Must have completed some form of
OSHA approved safety class when it comes to ladders and
scaffolding.
Removes old paint from wood, brick, metal and other surfaces by stripping, sanding, wire
brushing, sand blasting and power washing. Erects and performs work assignments from
scaffolding and ladders and operates and utilizes scissors and articulating lifts to perform painter
work at ground level and up to 24'.
Maintains, crosswalks, parking lot stripping and applies street pavement markings such as stop
bars, skip dashes, bike lanes and symbols, and other markings.
Loads and unloads equipment and supplies from work vehicle. Spreads drop cloths to protect
equipment and surrounding areas.
Cleans paint applicators, equipment and work area after paint jobs are completed. |

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program or four (4) years (48 months) of full-time journey-level painter experience.
- As required by the position to be filled, current license/certification consistent with vehicles, machinery, and equipment that is routinely used in the general occupational area. i
