Job Purpose

This role exists to guarantee that the integrated solution satisfies the original customers' needs; this also ensures the complexity of software development is abstracted from OR Engineers & CS with limited programming background.

You are accountable for delivery of "working solutions" to the AS Director, who is accountable for the overall delivery of the projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Study requirements, clarify business requirement, and perform data analysis (if needed) to create a system solution vision & design, risk/mitigation plan, and a delivery plan, following software development processes and proper documentation guidelines
  • Work with Technical Architects and Operations Research Engineers to create low-level design of modules of a software application through proper documentation and diagrams
  • Develop proof of concepts for technical/risk evaluation and get early customer feedback
  • Lead Application Developers to design, create technical tasks/stories, plan and implement technical solutions for customer requested features
  • Develop and implement Engines to optimize and automate business decisions using large data sets and algorithms
  • Update and shares knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing technology, reading professional publications,[PS1]
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members of Applied Sciences and forming the new Optimization App team with a combination of existing and new members

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of software development management experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, preferably working with Java applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven success in delivering technology products in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices as well as best practices for the full software development life cycle.
  • Understanding and experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Desire to learn and continually expand your areas of expertise.
