POSITION TITLE: Summer Intern - Finance

POSITION SUMMARY:

An internship opportunity is available in our Strategic Finance & Analysis (SF&A) group at Scripps Research. The Intern will be responsible for executing both SF&A team-specific and cross-functional projects in support of key data integrity initiatives for the Institute. This is a temporary paid position for a maximum of 90 days and is subject to minimum wage and overtime laws. Students can work up to 40 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  1. TEAM AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PROJECTS


Create and manage datasets that enable analyses that deliver key insights regarding the Institute in coordination with other key stakeholders



  1. INSTITUTE ANALYSIS SUPPORT


Assist in the coordination and execution of analysis and create presentation materials for internal and external audiences

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:



  • Demonstrated personal, professional and educational achievement
  • Experience with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on challenging projects
  • Positive attitude, fast learner, and good instincts


COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $17.25 to $23.47 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be a rising sophomore or junior, currently enrolled in a bachelors program, preferably pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite, along with the ability to learn other office software applications and collaboration tools a plus.
