Job Summary:
This position is responsible for implementing and administering Associate health and wellness programs, supporting the design of benefit plans, and ensuring Mary Washington Healthcare retains a competitive benefits position in the marketplace. The Manager performs analysis, research, and develops recommendations on benefits policies and practices that support the overall health and wellness philosophy of Mary Washington Healthcare.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and administration of MWHC benefit strategy and supporting programs.
- Manage health and welfare plans, administration and reporting, ACA, COBRA and FMLA administration including the integration with disability programs; lead the annual Benefits Renewal and Open Enrollment process to include HRIS configuration.
- Manage, develop, support, and grow a high-performing team of benefit professionals in an inclusive and highly engaging environment.
- Oversee preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with state and federal agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
- Serves as escalation point of contact for benefits and retirement-related Associate matters.
- Lead and maintain an engaging and effective Associate wellness program that is based data driven results.
- Serve as project lead or team member for various HR and interdepartmental projects.
- Manage relationships with providers; evaluate and monitor service agreements to ensure quality of service and competitive costs.
- Participate in the selection of benefits providers, consultants, and brokers.
- Recommend new and/or improved Associate benefit plans and cost-saving measures; manage the ongoing effort to determine and maintain equity with current benefit trends and legislated requirements and programs.
- Oversee the maintenance of benefits records and the preparation of documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage.
- Develop and implement an overall benefit communication strategy to ensure Associate understanding and awareness of all programs.
- Participate in the management of the Benefit's budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other related Business field preferred.
- A minimum of five years of professional level benefits program design and administration experience, preferably in a health care setting.
- At least two years supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
- Familiarity with Workday Benefits preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management and Associates.
- Experience working independently and cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people.
