The firm seeks a full-time employee, preferably with HSR experience, but all corporate experience at a law firm or a financial services firm will be considered. The successful candidate is someone with a strong interest in private equity and mergers and acquisitions who will become an integral member of the firm's corporate practice and is interested in developing a long-term relationship with the firm.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working in a detailed-oriented and organized manner to:

    • Prepare HSR filings and review relevant documents from clients, including financial statements, market share data and internal memos
    • Analyze data including the transaction structure and conduct research on relevant antitrust laws and regulations
    • Coordinate with the FTC and DOJ any requests regarding the review process
    • Attend internal and client calls and follow up with action points
    • Provide general support to Debevoise Antitrust team


  • Taking a thoughtful and analytical approach to:

    • Support HSR team in advising premier private equity and corporate clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions
    • Develop a strong practice area knowledge, assisting with business development efforts and contributing to general and practice specific trainings
    • Develop professional relationships with clients
    • Project-manage various workstreams with an eye for detail


  • Engaging in a collaborative and enthusiastic manner to:

    • Communicate and interact with clients, vendors, third party administrators, partners, associates and firm staff at all levels
    • Develop practice area expertise, contribute to and maintain knowledge management resources, assist with business development efforts and participate in professional development training sessions




Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of experience in a corporate law environment or in compliance
  • Adept with Excel and high proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about expanding knowledge of the private equity industry
  • Team-oriented mindset as well as the ability to take ownership of and complete tasks without direct supervision
  • Interpersonal skills enabling successful and professional communication
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work overtime and travel when needed
