Data Analytics - Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analytics Intern at S&C Electric Company reports to the Manager of Enterprise Data in Chicago. This position will be focused on identifying, building, and deploying business intelligence (BI) and data assets across the organization. Specifically, this role will be responsible for creating data pipelines, modeling data, and exercising an ability to design and develop metrics/KPIs, statistics, visualizations and other data and analytic assets rooted in empowering data-driven decision making. Successful deliverables from this role will include data analysis and visualizations used in BI reports and dashboards, data summaries, and data-driven insights.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Developing against data management and analytics requirements defined
* Pulling data from data sources to review and create metrics and KPIs
* Analyzing structured & unstructured data to produce descriptive and diagnostic analytics
* Generating statistics and data visualizations to empower quality decision making
* Defining and documenting standard devops practices and learning the data stack within the environment
* Presenting analytics summaries and conclusions to audiences at many levels
* Documenting and implementing data governance standards across the organization

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
* Pursuing a degree in computer science, math, engineering, or related STEM discipline with a graduation date of December 2025 or beyond
* Ability to commute and work on-site at S&C HQs located in Rogers Park, Chicago, IL
* Ability to work Full-Time starting in Summer 2025
* Databricks, Azure/AWS, PowerBi, R, and/or Python skills
* Skills preparing and presenting data-driven recommendations in simple and accessible formats
* Introductory experience developing data models, schemas, and/or reports and dashboards
* Experience or exposure to project management and devops standards and best practices
* Knowledge of data governance standards and best practices
* Basic understanding of manufacturing and business processes
* Commitment to continuous improvement through formal and informal learning
