Income Statement Accountant

We are seeking an Income Statement Accountant to join our Corporate Headquarters team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As part of the Consolidations Accounting Team, this role plays a key part in the compilation and dissemination of the company's consolidated income statement and provides exposure to various facets of corporate accounting, reporting, and analysis.

Candidates successful in the Income Statement role typically progress to the Balance Sheet Accountant role and are then well-positioned to progress within or outside the department.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Compile and disseminate the company's consolidated income statement.

  • Analyze the "Corporate & Other" segment and specific consolidated accounts.

  • Prepare financial data for internal and external reporting purposes.

  • Handle accounting for a significant joint venture.

  • Provide detailed responses to inquiries from senior management and external auditors.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Decision Support, External Reporting, Technical Accounting, Corporate Tax, and external auditors to support accurate and timely reporting.

This role is a stepping stone for progression to the Balance Sheet Accountant role and other career growth opportunities within or outside the department.

In addition to income statement compilation, responsibilities include:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual Income Statement-related analysis

  • Quarterly and annual Balance Sheet-related analysis for certain accounts

  • Compilation of financial data for use in internal and external reporting, including roll-forwards and footnotes

  • Compilation of certain unaudited financial statements

  • Accounting for joint venture(s)

  • Accounting for charitable foundation

  • Key interface with External Reporting, Technical Accounting, Corporate Tax, Decision Support, and our external auditors

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • CPA preferred but not required.

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or related roles.

  • Strong interest and aptitude in accounting systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Emphasis on process improvement and customer focus.
