ACARA Solutions and our client in Scottsdale, AZ have several contract-to-direct hire positions available for both first and second shifts

Advanced Engineering Technician

$33.93 per hour 1st shift
$33.93 per hour plus 10% shift differential 2nd shift
Position Overview: The Advanced Engineering Technician will collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations Support, and cross-functional teams to support various engineering activities. Radio Frequency experience is highly desired. This role involves working on the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, problem-solving, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineering Support: Assist in the design, testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
  • Technical Interpretation: Interpret basic engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics to support project goals and ensure accuracy in the development of prototypes and equipment.
  • System Troubleshooting and Debugging: Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust various tools, equipment, and systems to meet performance requirements.
  • Experimental Design & Data Analysis: Conduct statistically-based experiments to define and optimize process parameters. Analyze, organize, and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and improve processes.
  • Process Improvement: Implement and document complex solutions for process improvement based on experimental results and root cause analysis.
  • Tooling and Fixture Design: Design and construct basic tooling and fixtures to complete unique tasks, ensuring they align with project requirements and enhance efficiency.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document and report on findings, process improvements, and modifications to ensure clear communication with engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations support, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and to resolve technical challenges.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Engineering Technician.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools.
  • Ability to fabricate complex hardware.
  • Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Superior communication and collaboration skills.
