Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Client Engagement Specialist at the MLK Residential Campus holds a crucial role in enhancing clients' overall experience. This position entails formalizing and overseeing all client engagement activities within the campus and extends to the broader community. This involves close collaboration with management and frontline staff to ensure seamless scheduling and execution of these activities. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that clients actively participate in various non-clinical activities, thereby fostering their holistic well-being and integration into the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Client Engagement Strategy:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive client engagement strategy to keep clients actively involved in-house and in thecommunity.
    • Create and manage a monthly calendar of activities, events, and initiatives to engage clients on a regular basis.


  • Peer Support Groups:

    • Facilitate discussions, promote a supportive environment, and encourage active participation among clients.


  • Client Communication:

    • Foster positive client relationships and maintain open lines of communication.


  • Activity Coordination:

    • Plan and execute a variety of engaging activities and events, ensuring there is something for clients to participate in every night.




    • Coordinate resources, facilities, and volunteers as required.


  • Data Tracking and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of client participation and engagement levels in non-clinical activities.
    • Provide regular reports on client engagement metrics to management for performance evaluation and improvement.


  • Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with management and frontline staff to align client engagement health prosocial activities. .
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless client experience.


  • Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience and Competencies:



  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health and addiction recovery principles.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to client interactions.
  • Familiarity with technology and data tracking tools.
  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDCR background clearance.
  • During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Previous experience in client engagement, support groups, or a similar role within a healthcare or mental health setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred, High School diploma or its equivalent is required.

  • Not applicable for this position.


WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Work is performed in a combination of an office and outdoor setting.
  • Some travel is required.
