Responsibilities Primarily responsible for assisting the team leader in the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Therapy department with regard to patient care management, resource management, and knowledge and adherence to federal and state regulations. Responsible for ensuring set up and operation of various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases as ordered by physicians. Performs a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics to comprehensively serve patient needs. The Resource Respiratory Therapy Technologist serves as a role model in the Respiratory Therapy department and is responsible for working collaboratively with other team members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an approved, accredited program recognized by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Registered Respiratory Therapist. Licensure/ Certification: Therapists are required to have current State license. Current BLS certification required and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. Active membership in the AARC (American Association of Respiratory Care) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of respiratory acute care experience and one (1) to two (2) years of management experience required.
