Function:

Maintenance Job Summary:The I&E Superintendent effectively manages maintenance efforts at the Donaldsonville Nitrogen Complex which includes the Production units (Ammonia, Urea, Nitric Acid and Urea Ammonium Nitrate), Storage and Loading, and the Off-sites facilities.

The Superintendent manages a workforce comprised of CF employees and supplemented by contract technicians.

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing an annual budget covering routine, outage and turnaround maintenance efforts.

The Superintendent will ensure that the group upholds CF's high safety performance while maintaining high craft work execution quality and productivity. Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead personnel to establish high expectations of safety, quality and productivity.
  • Manage site I&E personnel.
  • Manage electrical distribution system to ensure reliable power supply and effective communications with power supplier.
  • Manage plant requirements to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Lead the execution of maintenance efforts in a manner to maintain on-stream equipment reliability for the facility.
  • Manage the facility's Preventative Maintenance Program by ensuring equipment is inspected and tested according to program criteria and documentation is timely generated and available for future use.
  • Manage the I/E Technician Progression Program and ensure the continuous development of personnel.
  • Manage personnel to assure talent is utilized to maximize individual employee ability.
  • Manage personnel to develop and expand employee skillsets for potential promotion opportunities.
  • Manage the program's documentation dissemination, document control effort, personnel certifications, and continuous education.
  • Works closely with the I/E Engineering team to make sure the maintenance and engineering teams align.
  • Manage the facility's annual I&E budget for repair cost and schedules.
  • Manage offsite repair facilities to ensure critical equipment repairs meet quality, productivity and cost expectations.

Management Communication:

  • Advise facility management of critical equipment field and shop restoration efforts (i.e., cost and schedule etc.) as compared to their respective forecast estimates and schedules.
  • Maintain Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in support of site-wide goals including safety, regulatory compliance, and cost management.

Internal Controls:

Establishes and implements processes/procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. Ensures that established processes/procedures are followed as designed. Works to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures, make corrections or replace with new ones and the extent to which such processes/procedures are being followed. Develops and implements corrective actions with regard to department internal controls as necessary.

Successful Incumbents Will Have:

  • BS Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university with 5 years chemical/refinery plant experience and 5 years supervisory experience or 10 years of in-plant experience with proven supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, technical, and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of acquiring, maintaining and possessing a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Demonstrated ability to get things done through available onsite and offsite resources is essential.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Must be able to prove drug and alcohol free at random or for cause.
