Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is in search of a Senior Accounts Representative for the laboratory department. As a valued part of the UTSW team, you will be in constant communication with existing and prospective clients, with an emphasis on promoting laboratory services, developing, and maintaining professional client relationships.

Work Location: BioCenter (Inwood Rd)

Shift Requirement: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with some after hour client follow-ups.

Travel Requirement: Up to 50% travel required.



Experience and Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field from an accredited institution required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years clinical/anatomical pathology work experience required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of sales experience required. Laboratory sales preferred.
  • Two (2) years in supervising role preferred.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, billing, insurance, LIS, interface, lab testing, and reference laboratory testing preferred.



Job Duties

  • Contacts prospective & existing clients on a regular basis to promote services, advise of new product offerings, and maintain relationships.
  • Increases the profitability of existing accounts by analyzing profitability, product and service portfolio and communicates ongoing plans with customers.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters. Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.
  • Participates in tradeshows by representing the organization and sharing information on products.
  • Assists with client service requests by displaying confidence and by showing positive interpersonal skills to gain the trust and confidence of clients.
  • Develops an annual business plan to drive success. Has quarterly updates to ensure the plan is being executed. Tracks activities.
  • Investigates account discrepancies. Elevates critical situations to management's attention in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
