About Your Role

The O'Donnell School of Public Health's Office of Academic Affairs is seeking an experienced PhD Program Coordinator to manage all aspects of the PhD in Public Health Program. The PhD Program Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and assist the PhD Program Director and concentration Directors to ensure seamless program operation. The role includes responsibilities in PhD student recruitment, admission, curriculum planning, policy updates, addressing student needs, evaluation of educational activities, guiding dissertation process, and accreditation, as well as overall PhD Program management. This position serves as the single point of contact for PhD students to aid them in admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and degree planning.

Job Duties:

* Directs, analyzes, coordinates, and evaluates the PhD program's operations and procedures.

* Manage the recruitment process, including outreach, informational sessions, and application tracking.

* Oversees the admission cycles, including candidate communication, interview coordination, and selection processes.

* Updates and ensures compliance with program policies and procedures to align with institutional and accreditation standards.

* Serves as the primary contact for PhD students, providing guidance on enrollment, financial aid, degree planning, and academic progress.

* Supports curriculum committee meetings and assists in curriculum development, ensuring alignment with educational goals and accreditation requirements.

* Facilitates the dissertation process, including milestones, committee formation, and defense scheduling.

* Plans and coordinates special events such as orientation, seminars, and graduation ceremonies.

* Cultivates and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the program's goals.

* Collects and analyzes data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

* Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

* Attends conferences and reads relevant literature to stay informed about trends in public health education.

* Develops and monitors the program's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
