Our team in Corporate Group is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join them. You will report to the Accounting Process Lead and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

To be considered for the Accounts Payable Specialist role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Typically, an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field and 1+ years of relevant experience, bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • A combination of relevant professional experience and education may be considered.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze data through advanced formulas and functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Previous experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP) would be beneficial.

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will:

  • Address and resolve accounts payable inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by working closely with buyers, vendors, and other departments.
  • Research and analyze payment or invoice-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors to address questions and concerns.
  • Adjust and update accounting records as necessary.
  • Conduct evaluated receipt settlements (3-Way Match) to ensure accuracy.
  • Process high-volume of various types of invoices, including auditing and entering data into the AP system, handling recurring invoices, and managing one-time invoices.
  • Execute timely and accurate payments.
  • Embrace and apply Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance processes.
  • Engage in Business Process Management and Knowledge Management initiatives.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, utilizing various accounting systems and Microsoft Office products.
