Summary:

The local Director - Human Resources (HR) role partners closely with Senior Leadership team(s) within MaineHealth's local hospitals or operating entities and may also lead project initiatives of strategic importance at a system level. The HR Director is responsible for the development of a high-quality, comprehensive people agenda for the MaineHealth Medical Group that aligns with MaineHealth's vision and strategic business plan and may provide direction for retention strategies, talent management and talent acquisition, engagement, change management, workforce planning and organization design and culture.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  2. License/Certifications: SHRM Certified Professional SHRM-CP or SHRM Senior Certified Professional SHRM-SCP preferred.
  3. Experience: Five years of Human Resources or related experience required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Experience working with an array of HR technology and computer programs including Lawson, Kronos and Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including workforce planning, care team relations, recruiting, talent management, compensation practices, organizational development, learning, union avoidance, diversity, performance management, federal and state employment laws.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Demonstrated ability to effectively envision, develop and implement strategies to address competitive and complex business issues. Strong leadership skills and experience influencing at a senior level in an organization. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Strong business and financial acumen. Strong negotiation and facilitation skills to effectively deal with conflicts and affect change.
