DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Senior Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for the set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operations of a Program Office, Bureau and/or organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the Program Office, Bureau and/or organization to achieve its goals.

The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain an in-depth understanding of the customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.

The Senior BA is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end (E2E) to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting Project Managers (PMs) on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect team members. Individuals with certification through the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) will be better positioned for this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work Hours will range from 7:30am - 5:00pm (candidate may decide schedule). Lunch period will be based on selected work schedule (30 minute or 1 hour lunch), Monday - Friday.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You must come into the office one day a month at a minimum. You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule but this could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Although this is a telework position, you will be required to come to the Harrisburg office to pick up your equipment. Other reasons for coming into the office include: changes to the current telework that would require staff to come into the office, to attend training, mandatory meetings or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense.
  • Parking is located at the building and is free.
  • Salary: Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $66,250.00.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Business Analyst 2; or
  • Six years of business process analysis experience; or
  • Two years of business process analysis experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
