Role Description

As a Release Manager you will manage a small team of Change Analysts and Tech Writers and will oversee the generation and release of engineering and New Product Introduction Bills Of Materials (BOMS), and support documentation into consumable packages for downstream internal customers. Your team will create ECOs (with direction from the engineering teams), will verify attachments, BOMs, sourcing information, and other relevant metadata to ensure the item and BOM records are correct in the PLM system. Your team will also support the creation of technical documentation, at various sites, for product assembly, installation, and operation manuals, and will ensure documentation is clear, current, and available at the proper place of use.

You will also be responsible for the maintenance and execution of our Arena PLM system, including potential changes to the system configuration and / or processes managed within Arena. You will monitor automated data inputs and outputs and will immediately rectify any data inconsistencies or errors. You will ensure ECOs are reviewed and released in a timely manner, and will modify the ECO process as needed to achieve acceptable results. You will be responsible for publishing ECO information and reports in order to notify all relevant parties of the upcoming and completed changes. Overall, you will ensure the Design Documentation department fully supports the product development and production efforts of the Engineering, Testing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.

What you'll do:
  • Ensure the Arena PLM system is well managed and maintained

  • Author and ensure ECOs are processed efficiently and effectively

  • Continuously update the ECO process (and other PLM activities) to ensure tasks are performed efficiently

  • Support a wide range of departments and teams using the Arena PLM tool

  • On-board and train new Arena users, and ensure training documentation is current and available

What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years experience using the Arena PLM system

  • BA/BS degree or 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience as a manager in a manufacturing environment

  • Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication

  • Unparalleled multi-tasking abilities

  • Top notch critical thinking skills

  • Ability to react to resets and changes in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to learn and work with a variety of different tools and applications required for the role

Additional Requirements - strongly preferred, but not required:

  • Experience managing, organizing, and maintaining large quantities of data

  • Experience working with multiple different teams in a R&D environment

  • Experience working with a CAD system (Solidworks preferred)
