Job Purpose

The Parts Pricing Department examines and sets market pricing for over 1 million-part numbers, which protects the PS&T Divisional profit and further ensures the divisional profit targets are achieved. The Pricing Analysts analyze and review cost changes of assigned product groups by exploring internal and market data to set target pricing that will optimize profit targets and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Key Accountabilities

  • On a weekly basis, there are over 4,000 cost changes. Each of the changes are reviewed to determine the feasibility of matching the increases and decreases in cost. In this area we strive to maximize gross profit opportunities through market research and internal research.
  • Target 200,000 competitive parts numbers and market research to optimize gross profit contribution to the AHM's bottom line
  • Establish 100% New Model pricing by new model launch (Auto, Motorcycle and Power Equipment) and identify all VIP Parts for completive review and optimize gross profit, market competitiveness & acceptability
  • Provide accurate timely pricing targets and break-even analysis to support parts marketing sales programs and strategies with pricing proposals and market data
  • Produce ad-hoc pricing, gross profit reports and sales analysis for special projects as directed by management for executive presentation review purposes


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS degree in business administration, economics or engineering: MBA Preferred
  • 5-7 years experienced demonstrating progressive responsibility
  • 2-3 years as business or pricing analyst
  • Some automotive, technical and general mechanical knowledge is necessary
  • Strong data analytical skills required
  • Strong user skills necessary in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project Planning
  • Strong skills necessary in data query tools such as Access and Business Objects
  • Strong Internet research ability is essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to attend to details is essential
  • Requires strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to interact with and understand the needs of, business users from all areas of the Parts Division
  • Must be a dependable, reliable, result oriented professional with a strong work ethic
  • Must be flexible, able to adapt to a dynamic environment and work as an effective, contributing member of a team with minimal direction
