Job Description

The Department of Medical Pharmacology and Physiology, University of Missouri invites applications for a Research Specialist II position as a Molecular Biology Specialist.

Job Duties:

Performing RNA studies, including RNA extraction and quantification
Conducting protein studies, including Western blotting, and post translational modification studies
Running ELISA tests
Analyzing experimental results, and writing result report
Handling general lab management tasks, including ordering supplies, completing institutional and vendor paperwork, and maintaining laboratory equipment
Supervising and training graduate and undergraduate students, as well as visiting students

Shift

Shift Type: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm
(Clinical) Office/Administrative Hours: Yes - Position will have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Training: Proficiency in Western blot techniques, Familiarity with PCR procedures, Experience with cell culture, Prior experience working in a research laboratory.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $19.00 - $26.00
