Summary Responsible for repairing and maintaining the operation of all City trucks and Heavy Duty equipment. . May also be required to repair small engine equipment, electric and gas carts, fork lifts, tractors, riding mowers, trailers, blowers and many other items. Should be able to diagnose and repair and help others to accurately diagnose without much guidance. Salary $23.75 - $26.78 (depending on qualifications or experience) Work Schedule & Uniforms We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer the following work schedule options:
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Monday - Friday) 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Monday - Friday) 3:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Monday - Thursday)

Perform preventative maintenance on City trucks and Heavy Duty equipment as well as any number of city owned equipment and assets Diagnose and repair City trucks and Heavy Duty equipment and smaller equipment. Order necessary parts as needed. Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop. Respond to road calls. Diagnose and repair vehicle hydraulic or electrical systems. Ensure work quality on all vehicle repair and/or maintenance services. Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call-out.
Minimum Qualifications
6 months to 1 year advanced study past the high school level 3 years related experience 1 Truck ASE Certification Must own basic hand and air tools Ability to lift over 50lbs
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:

Working Conditions & Hazards:
Subject to kneeling, stooping, crawling, extended standing, lying on a creeper, and other strains on the body. Often works in a non-climate controlled environment exposed to noise, petroleum distillates, dust, and dirt. May be exposed to hazards such as chemicals, electricity as well as physical danger associated with automotive repair. Works in shop area or in the field. Exposed to temperature extremes, all weather conditions, noise, fumes from vehicles, dirt, and grease. Stands and lies on hard surfaces or in muddy areas in the field. Subject to lifting and handling of heavy components and parts. Walks, lifts, climbs, pushes, pulls, bends, and stoops. Must work safely to avoid injury while using tools and repairing vehicles
