JOB PROFILE
We are looking for a motivated Healthcare Power Systems Sales Representative to join our sales team at Thompson Energy Solutions, a division of Thompson Machinery. This outside sales position is essential for growing our business in the healthcare sector by providing reliable power solutions for medical facilities. The ideal candidate should have technical knowledge in healthcare power systems, strong sales and communication skills, and the capability to manage and grow their sales territory while delivering outstanding service and reliability to our clients.
Essential Functions:


  • Maintain and expand healthcare accounts by networking, referrals, and cold calling to secure new business opportunities.
  • Engage with healthcare clients and technical staff to conduct site evaluations, comprehend power requirements, and determine power solutions to ensure reliability and resiliency.
  • Provide client-specific solutions including generators, power distribution equipment, and other essential healthcare power needs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to offer comprehensive turnkey solutions, integrating the full range of Thompson products and services.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and advancements in healthcare power solutions to provide the most current and effective products to our clients.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in power generation and distribution, including generator and electrical equipment technical knowledge.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a competitive, fast-paced environment.

  • A hybrid environment that includes office settings, field/site visits, and direct interaction with customers in various locations, with exposure to variable outdoor weather conditions.

  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

  • Must be able to work well under occasional pressure or within work standards and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or with others in a team environment.


Physical Requirements


  • Pass pre-employment background check, physical exam including drug screen, and meet all physical requirements for the position.
  • Able to lift up to 20-50 pounds occasionally.
