Reporting to the Director of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University, the Research Program Manager provides operational management support and coordination of the newly established Frontline Safety, Health, Implementation, Education, and Leadership Development Science (SHIELDS) Center activities. SHIELDS is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and performance of law enforcement officers through evidence-based research and practice. The center facilitates collaborations among researchers, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders, ensuring the direct translation of research findings into actionable interventions. The SHIELDS Center offers access to specialized populations and supports research on mental health, physical performance, and injury prevention in law enforcement officers. Duties include assisting the SHIELDs Center leadership with facilitating internal projects from proposal and inception through post go live activities; coordinating project planning, governance, resourcing, budgeting, progress reporting, issues management, and change management; ensuring project results meet quality, schedule, and cost requirements; monitoring project status and recommending course corrections to schedule, resources, or cost; and supporting projects from multiple disciplines. Job Duties: Facilitates current research and outreach program activities, including seminar series, conferences, and networking activities. The Project Manager will complete these tasks independently and communicate actions, support needs, and outcomes regularly to the Director and the Center leadership team. Develops, proposes, and facilitates outreach projects targeting clinical and patient groups, including faculty and staff within the University, such as community outreach workshops, invited lectures, and continuing education curricula and symposia. Manages internal communications to center faculty, staff, and trainee affiliates, and other partners within the University. The Project Manager will work with the Director and other stakeholders to circulate information and outcomes. Tracks and reports program outcomes and internally available key performance metrics including grants, activities, highlights, and engagement. The Project Manager will work with the Director and the Center leadership team to evaluate the full program and activities. Coordinate community liaison working with external agencies and departments to facilitate collaborative partnerships, contracts, and or sponsorships. Manages, facilitates, and coordinates events, educational programs, and training for external partners in collaboration with the Center leadership team. Facilitates and manages registrations and payments or participants in the Centers activities. Supports the marketing and outreach efforts to external partners for engagement with the Centers activities. Assist the Director in developing and executing new and existing research and outreach programs, including seed grants, seminar series, conferences, and networking activities.
