Position Title: Naval Architect Intern (Entry Level)

Location: Lockport, LA

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivatedNaval Architect Intern - (Entry Level) currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in naval architecture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and contributing to the team while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist with general office tasks, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Support the Engineering department by preparing information and conducting research.
  • Collaborate with company personnel across departments to support project objectives.
  • Perform structural calculations and weight take-offs.
  • Assist in the development of 2D drawings and 3D modeling.
  • Create and analyze models using GHS (General Hydrostatics) software.
  • Participate in incline experiments and deadweight surveys.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Naval Architecture or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.


This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, allowing students to develop industry-relevant skills, expand their professional network, and contribute meaningfully to Bollinger's Engineering department.
