Intake Specialist

• Administer the Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting lists and determine eligibility for low-income families
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, offering assistance regarding program eligibility, application processing, and general inquiries
• Process applications, review documentation for completeness, and enter data accurately into the computer system
• Verify income, calculate eligibility, and conduct criminal background checks
• Communicate with applicants about eligibility determinations and provide assistance throughout the application process
• Perform rent calculations, manage recertifications, and coordinate with landlords and residents on the Housing Choice Voucher Program
• Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and internal policies

• Associate's degree in Business, Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property management, low-income housing, or related fields
• Knowledge of Housing Choice Voucher Program regulations and guidelines
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Computer proficiency and knowledge of applicable software
