Position Description The Capture Specialist is responsible for supporting business development efforts to drive successful contract wins. This role helps executes capture strategies, collaborates with internal teams to position LCG competitively in the customer's view, and helps shape opportunities through customer engagement, teaming discussions, and competitive analysis. The Capture Specialist will develop teaming recommendations, contribute to pricing strategies, and assist in solutioning approaches, ensuring that LCG's offerings align with customer needs. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Growth Strategy. The successful candidate will support a pipeline of opportunities valued up to $100M TCV, contributing to capture planning, execution, and proposal alignment. The Capture Specialist will also participate in industry events, support proposal development, and coordinate with internal teams to enhance LCG's positioning. This role is responsible for executing the activities necessary to transition qualified opportunities through Gate 2 and Gate 3 as part of the structured capture process. Key Responsibilities
- Support business development efforts post Gate Review 1 by coordinating opportunity transition to the next stage of the growth process.
- Assist business development by identifying potential new business leads and supporting engagement efforts with current government customers and teaming partners.
- Participate in customer meetings with business development and capture leadership to gather insights on business and operational needs.
- Support value proposition discussions by articulating key differentiators and aligning company solutions with customer needs.
- Assist in service and technical briefings by providing supporting materials, case studies, and examples of capabilities that address customer concerns.
- Support capture teams in advancing pipeline opportunities, ensuring coordinated efforts toward successful pursuit outcomes.
- Assist in the development and execution of capture plans, contributing to win strategy discussions, maintaining timelines, and supporting backlog management.
- Support opportunity gate reviews 2 and 3 by providing competitive analysis insights and assisting in pre-RFP and post-RFP solutioning, pricing, and price-to-win strategies.
- Gather and analyze customer intelligence to support win strategies, contributing to recommendations on staffing, past performance selection, and other capture activities.
- Assist in the transition from capture to pre-RFP by supporting bid risk reviews and coordinating with the proposal strategist.
- Gain a strong understanding of the company's CAPEX Lab and DETC capabilities by working with internal leaders and solution architects, supporting discussions that communicate the company's value proposition to potential customers.
- Support service delivery and DETC leads in conducting gap analyses across Statements of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statements (PWS), assisting in the identification of teaming partners and supporting teaming agreement discussions.
- Work closely with the proposal strategist and internal teams to support proposal development, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational capabilities.
- Support relationship-building efforts with current and potential government customers by engaging in discussions to understand their needs and priorities.
- Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and association events to support business development efforts, gain market insights, and assist in identifying new business opportunities.
- Assist in the proposal development process by providing customer insights and supporting win strategy discussions to ensure alignment with capture objectives.
- Support color team in-briefs and de-briefs by providing capture insights, customer knowledge, and feedback to refine proposal positioning.
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in GovCon business development and capture,
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in the capture process, including opportunity identification, strategy development, and proposal support.
- Experience in supporting capture of medium to large programs with emphasis on opportunity qualification and shaping into solution and proposal submission.
- Understanding of GovCon acquisition processes and their alignment with the opportunity lifecycle.
- Relationships with and access to both Government and industry stakeholders in the GovCon community.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Possess analytical presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal/written communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent capture activities in a high-operational tempo environment.
- Experience in the development of and successful negotiation of teaming agreements.
- Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations.
- This role requires an ethical approach to winning, comprehensive business acumen, technical understanding and/or education, resourcefulness to manage process driven captures, and internal/external customer relations-oriented individual.
Compensation and Benefits The projected base compensation range for this position is $81,700 to $118,600 per year, benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $95,100. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
