Senior Manager, Infotainment Development

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.(HATCI) is looking for our next Infotainment Development Senior Manager to to leader the Infotainment Development Department at our Superior Township, MI facility.

In this role, you will lead our diverse and growing team of engineers in developing a vision, strategy, and business plan as it relates to meeting our customer objectives in Infotainment.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop and support Electronic Systems Development Department vision and mission, annual work plan and budget. Create goals and objectives for all direct reports in compliance with all short-, mid- and long-term organizational plans. Assign daily tasks and project plans in compliance to North America roles and responsibilities.
  • Oversee and direct Managers & Engineers in vehicle design projects relating to infotainment development. Establish innovative technologies for research, support Hyundai Motor Group field quality, cost savings initiatives, and support creation of technology roadmaps.
  • Conduct design reviews with engineers.
  • Review technical and operational projects with engineering staff. Establish risk assessment and risk reduction initiatives to meet all timing milestones. Review progress to work plan and quality of work. Provide technical direction and guidance.
  • Support Hyundai Motor Company requests for Engineering studies, competitive benchmarking, and market research for North American customers.
  • Publish regular Infotainment Development Reports summarizing the activities weekly completed and planned activities.
  • Create technical reports for presentation to upper Management - Hyundai & Kia sales and marketing business unit, Korea R&D, local Manufacturing and outside organizations as necessary.
  • Oversee and manage infotainment and electronic development activities in the areas of navigation, connected car, validations, cybersecurity, electric design, mobile app, server, etc.
  • Interface with other departments such as Vehicle Evaluation, Regulation & Certification, and Product Planning - and provide support as required with testing, design input, vehicle clinics, etc.
  • Assist in planning and monitoring of department budget.
  • Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5 years' experience in Engineering management
  • 7 years' experience in design and release of electric-related structures and components as well as solving design problems using sound engineering principals.
  • 3 years' experience in software development.
  • Understanding of embedded system and test experience
  • Experience in general purpose programming languages: C++, JAVA, Python, R, SQL, SCALA, HTML, etc.
  • Experience with big data processing.
  • Knowledge of server development/maintenance.
  • Experience in executing & validating scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
  • Analog/Digital circuit design and analysis skills.
  • Experience with in-vehicle communication and server related function development.
  • Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Driving Record
