Copy and Print Specialist

The Copy and Print Specialist is responsible for executing a wide range of print production tasks to ensure the timely and accurate completion of document and print projects. This role involves performing various production processes, including small and large-format printing, bindery, document copying, mail preparation and delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, is able to meet tight deadlines and committed to producing high-quality outputs that meet or exceed client expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Print and duplicate small and large-format projects, including posters, brochures, business cards, newsletters and various other documents.
  • Perform all aspects of bindery including laminating, cutting, saddle stitching, grommeting, coil binding, numbering, padding, folding and drilling
  • Perform all aspects of mail preparation including folding, stuffing, sealing, addressing and labeling
  • Work with members of the graphic design team to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Inspect finished products for defects or errors to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Pickup and delivery of material and finished projects
  • Archival scanning of Lab documents
  • Operate and maintain production equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a print shop or related field
  • Associate's degree
  • Ability to operate high-speed digital copiers, scanners, computers, large format printers
  • Knowledge of paper stock and the ability to select appropriate stock based on the job needs
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of production equipment including, but not limited to, paper cutters, coil binders, laminators, grommet machines and folding machines
  • Possesses a strong attention to detail and is meticulous with their work
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a medium-sized van
  • Highly organized and can move quickly from task to task
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows OS
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience using Print Shop Pro plant management software
  • Experience using Printshop Mail printing software
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat
  • Mechanically inclined and can make basic repairs to production equipment
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience using a Mac OS

The Lab's placement policy is to select the best qualified candidate for an available position. The salary starting rate for this position is $22.09 / hour. Increases will be subject for review as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
