Quality Engineer I

As an entry-level Quality Engineer, you will work with various departments across the organization in engineering, operations and quality. In this position, you will provide fixture design/development, tolerance analysis, material failure evaluation/analysis, and product reliability trend analyses.

How You Will Do It:

  • Provide mechanical engineering support for calibration, production test, quality engineering, and quality assurance departments.
  • Design, evaluate, and document HASS mechanical/electrical fixtures.
  • Develop and qualify HASS procedures for product screening.
  • Review customer requirements for applicability. Participate in project mechanical design reviews.
  • Identify and facilitate the product corrective action process. Including coordinating investigations, implementing activities, and auditing for effectiveness.
  • Analyzes data, identify product quality defects trends preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Perform root cause analysis, and identify and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate teams to review, create, release, maintain corrective action, and improvement activities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate process improvement for Quality Management System
  • Providing mechanical engineering quality support for supplier management activities
  • Coordination, collection, and evaluate product data for new product and field return units.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capability of working independently with limited oversight from senior engineers

Education and Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • CAD design experience, with understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to interpret technical specifications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Desired

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Experience with HASS development, processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of quality tools regarding root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and continuous improvement
  • Familiar quality methodologies and statistical analysis
  • Previous internship experience
