Join our Oak Creek, WI team as a Quality Engineering Intern! Our internships are hands on, highly technical, and designed to let you see what it's like to work at Astronautics. This is a paid undergraduate intern opportunity. As an engineering intern, you will work closely with our engineering staff on actual customer projects. Our summer intern program consists of at least 10 weeks of real-world experience in an engineering development environment.

Mentors are assigned to assist interns in achieving engineering related career development that is of mutual benefit to you and Astronautics. Our internship program includes events and opportunities to meet other interns and employees across the organization.

As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the launch of new avionic flight display products through implementation of improvements to processes and procedures based on current performance analysis. You will be part of a team having deliverables that contribute to the success of Astronautics Corporation. This role is focused around analyzing current processes and proposing improvements to management. You will have an opportunity to experience engineering practices beyond the standard university classroom and lab. Typical activities may include:

  • Documentation related to test plans, quality reports, calibration documentation, process instructions, and procedure updates.
  • Assistance with:
    • Multi-axis Vibration testing
    • Evaluation, modification, and updates to Vibration test fixtures
    • Developing environmental product test profiles
    • Calibration of electronic instrumentation or mechanical gauges
  • Programming measurement equipment
  • Trend analysis

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capability of working independently in a lab environment
  • Strong attention to detail

Education and Experience:

Required

  • Current accredited college or university enrollment with sophomore or junior standing; making progress towards an undergraduate degree in Aerospace, Biomedical, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (specifically Word and Excel)
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and electronic voltmeters
  • Ability to work full-time onsite during the summer of 2025
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Desired

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Laboratory experience integrating multiple pieces of equipment, signal sources and processors
  • Finite element analysis
  • Experience with Six Sigma analytical processes
  • Ability to work part-time onsite during the school year
