APPRENTICE FINISH CARPENTER (ENTRY LEVEL) ABOUT US Okland Construction, founded in 1918, is a regional general contracting and construction management company with nearly 1,000 employees and a growing workforce. It oversees design, engineering, bidding, contracting, construction, and inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in large-scale commercial concrete self-preform. POSITION SUMMARY Builds wooden structures and other carpentry items according to oral instructions. Involved in the installation of protection (floors, walls, casework, etc.), installation of doors, hardware, trim, division 10 specialties, completion of minor punch list items and minor touch-up, demolition, and other daily items that might arise due to project conditions, schedule, and needs from project management. The employee is also required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, wind, and heat. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. The employee is also required to frequently walk on uneven surfaces. Hazards: May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments; occasionally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to internal liquids. This is a safety-sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud.
