RK&K is currently hiring a Transportation Engineer I to join our team in Fairfax, VA. As a Highway/Roadway Engineer with RK&K, your responsibilities will include design and analysis of transportation facilities. Projects will include, but not be limited to new roadways, widenings, resurfacings, and multimodal improvements. Essential Function Design and analysis of horizontal and vertical alignments Prepare plan, profile, cross section, and detail sheets Design temporary traffic control plans Calculate quantities and prepare construction cost estimates Support preparation of design documentation Support preparation of specifications packages Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges Required Skills and Experience Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field Zero (0) to Five (5) years of experience in roadway design Working knowledge of basic roadway design principals Preferred Skills and Experience Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in DC/VA or ability to obtain within six (6) months Microstation or CADD experience Innovative intersection design Sidewalk or shared use path design Roadway widening or new alignment design Other Duties This job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
