Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking for a senior Software Developer to lead the development of the MCCCD Online Admissions web application. This role will be the subject matter expert for the development and support of web applications and software services, using C#, Microsoft .NET (ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, Core), JavaScript, SOAP, REST, SAML, OpenID Connect, and Microsoft SQL Server. In the near term, this position will maintain code and documentation for the existing systems for Admissions and Customer Relationship Management. This position will also be a technical lead in projects to integrate enterprise services with future Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms for Admissions and CRM. Essential Functions 30% - Serves as technical lead for coding, testing, and debugging applications and processes related to the online admissions web application and related similar applications 30% - Analyzes customer requirements, feature requests, and bug reports to design changes to program code, data models, and system integrations; prepares and maintains documentation of application design, data models, and software releases 20% - Plans and deploys software releases, including test plans and change management 10% - Provides technical support for production and system/application performance 10% - Performs related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, computer science, information science, engineering (any discipline), business (any discipline), computer programming, applied computing, software development, data science, database administration, mathematics (any discipline), statistics, cybersecurity, information security, network security, web development, database management, physics, economics, quantitative science, quantitative reasoning, logic and computation, or a related field and four (4) years of technical experience in C# .NET framework programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications. OR Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in any discipline, with a concentration (minor) or certificate (undergraduate or graduate) in a relevant/related discipline as listed above, or with an industry certification related to information technology work, and four (4) years of technical experience in C# .NET Framework programming, systems analysis, and/or the design and development of system software and applications. OR An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certifications sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Experience as a senior software developer in the entire service development life cycle for software and web applications, including: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support 2. Experience writing C# programs/services and ASP.NET web applications that integrate with REST Web services/APIs and enterprise databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and AWS data platforms 3. Experience managing code repositories in Git and deployment management systems 4. Experience directly supporting customers and stakeholders 5. Experience writing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries and stored procedures/triggers 6. Experience programming with non-Microsoft frameworks such as Python, Go, Node.js, and JavaScript frontend frameworks 7. Experience writing functional design documents, technical design documents, and software test plans Special Working Conditions This position is located in Tempe, AZ, and requires at least two days onsite MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.
