Methode is seeking a strategic and operational growth-oriented Finance Director to lead the finance function of the company's largest division, North American Auto. You will act as a trusted partner to the Division General Manager and leadership. You must be both strategic and operational while serving as a thought partner across various functional aspects of the business as well as implementing the systems and processes to help the Division achieve next-level execution of the value creation plan. You will provide exemplary leadership to geographically dispersed finance teams and to senior North American Automotive management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting and control environment by ensuring compliance with Methode financial policies and procedures
  • Examine ways to enhance growth and value creation by evaluating internal operations and crafting/implementing proactive solutions for division cost savings opportunities
  • Accountable for managing the processes/tools and lead a skilled finance staff, assuring that the function remains fundamentally excellent and attracts/retains top professional talent
  • Lead and manage a team of finance resources and drive team development with a bias for results and operational excellence
  • Deliver results meeting financial and strategic objectives of the business
  • Meet and exceed finance operational standards by contributing information to strategic financial plans and reviews
  • Drive business performance, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Act as collaborator and key contributor/decision-maker on effective deployment of strategic plans and thus resources (Capital/Human) by establishing disciplined financial models/processes
  • Develop an annual operating plan and related budgets, forecasting and analysis
  • Provide timely data/reporting needed to measure performance and the effectiveness/impact of improvement initiatives as well as the analysis needed to understand and address gaps
  • Ensure a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant financial and accounting standards as well as all applicable laws, codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external audit teams
  • Understand and ensure outstanding diligent adherence to GAAP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy, finance or business required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Automotive industry
  • At least 5 years of senior finance leadership experience, including managing direct reports
  • Strong personal leadership qualities; a track record of recruiting, motivating and developing a capable finance team
  • High energy, accountable and agile
  • Strong analytical, financial, cost accounting, and related managerial informational accounting/finance experience required
  • Lean process improvement experience preferred
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in implementing and managing rigorous, disciplined financial controls, financial management systems, and enterprise performance measures
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing (ERP) systems required
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is a plus
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Excel and enterprise performance management systems
  • Up to 25% domestic and international

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is $170,000 - $200,000 annually. This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan.Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
