Job Overview:
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the costs associated with the company's production and operations. This role ensures accurate costing and financial data to drive business decisions, maintain profitability, and support overall financial goals. The Senior Cost Accountant plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and improving cost-efficiency measures.




Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain standard costing systems for products and services.

  • Perform periodic cost rolls/updates

  • Prepare and provide analysis of cost variances

  • Work closely with Supply Chain to provide support relating to cost related matters

  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories

  • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward

  • Classifying the costs accurately as part of PPV analysis

  • Process all requests for new/adjustments for customers and suppliers per accounting policy

  • Partner with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality of manufacturing costs and resolve extraordinary variances.

  • Prepare cost forecasts, budgets, and profitability analyses.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.

  • Implement best practices in cost accounting and financial analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, GAAP, and company policies.

  • Maintain accurate records and controls to support cost management strategies.

  • Provide insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.

  • All other duties assigned




Requirements:


  • Bachelor's in accounting or finance

  • 5+ years Cost Accounting experience is required




Preferences:


  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Fully site based



Pay Range



The pay range for this role is $85,000-$105,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
