The Master Scheduler creates and maintains the master production schedule. The Scheduler routinely coordinates with internal stakeholders in Planning/Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, Programming, and Manufacturing regarding customer requirement dates, lead times, order and order date changes, machine downtime, and other unexpected circumstances that may impact the schedule, adjusting the master schedule as appropriate and promptly communicating schedule changes to internal stakeholders.

  • Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the ERP system
  • Receives and reviews sales orders for production material, floor stock items, and all purchases
  • Analyzes sales order releases relative to capacity planning and material requirements, advising internal stakeholder of issues that could compromise delivery by customer demand date
  • Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order review
  • Answer Termination or cancellation requests from sales
  • Orders floor stock with shelf-life material production
  • Reviews work in process material sweeps from the production floor
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, purchasing, and production supervisors on material status and production planning


Required Education and Work Experience


  • Three (3) or more years experience in a manufacturing planning role to include CNC machining or similar manufacturing process required
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering technology or similar is highly preferred


Other Required Skills and Abilities


  • Comprehensive knowledge of production planning, and quality control principles
  • Proficiency in use of ERP systems; Infor Visual experience preferred
  • Self-management skills including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Positive interpersonal skills to build relationships and communicate effectively with team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, World, and Teams/SharePoint
  • Advanced Excel including working with large datasets, tables, pivot tables, graphs/charts
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to appropriately handle challenges
  • Good math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert fractions to decimals is required
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies is required; experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies is a plus


Physical Demands and Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:


  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, sit for long periods at a computer to perform job duties
  • Occasionally lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers


Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:


  • Excessive noise - hearing protection required
  • Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment


The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear may be required
