Are you looking to work in a technical environment? If so, IPG Photonics is where you want to be! Our Technical Assemblers preform various duties such as building electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for lasers along the side of team members that influence the future of laser technology.

Responsibilities:



  • Assemble fiber laser modules according to engineering specifications and assembly instructions.
  • Read blueprints or schematics
  • Perform precision fiber splicing and soldering of optical and electronic components.
  • Conduct electrical and optical testing of assembled modules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly and performance issues related to fiber splicing and soldering.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes and test results.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to improve assembly procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.


  • High-School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in optical assembly, fiber optics, laser technology, fiber splicing, and soldering
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, and splicing/soldering tools
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity/fine motor skills for handling small components
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job
