The Director of the Cath lab is the vital link between the mission and vision of Maine Medical Center and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides highest quality care. Reporting through the VP of Operations, this role requires Dyad relationships with the EP and Cath Lab Medical Directors, and partnership with physicians, senior administration, directors and other professional colleagues to meet the diverse and continually changing challenges of the health care environment. The Director, Cardiac Cath Services must be a creative, autonomous, future-oriented, risk-taking entrepreneur who applies nursing expertise, critical thinking, and effective leadership and management skills to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals within the Cath Lab.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master's preferred.
  • License/Certification: Requires current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as an invasive cardiovascular technologist (RCIS/RCES), Radiology Technician, or a Registered Nurse experienced in invasive cardiovascular services and three years of progressive leadership experience in a complex acute care hospital.
  • Ability to make independent judgments to resolve complex problems consistent with accepted practices in invasive cardiovascular laboratories setting.
  • Strong business acumen, the ability to execute on strategy, the ability to engage physicians, administration, staff, patients, and families, and a strong attention to detail will be required.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, physicians, administrators, as well other departments including Nursing.
  • Candidates must be clinically astute with a passion for cardiovascular services and continuous process improvement.
