Propulsion SME

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Propulsion SME to support Aviation Turbine Engine (ATE) Program Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in support of the acquisition, management, and development of engine programs managed by the ATE Program Office (PO).
• Advise and mentor ATE PO engineering staff throughout the acquisition, development, and operational life cycle of US Army engine programs.
• Support technical Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) conducting Improved Turbine Engine qualification efforts and the development and qualification of the AE1107F FLRAA engine and APU.
• Assist with engine and system design reviews at the engine and component level.
• Address safety and readiness issues for fielded T700 and T55 engines, as well as associated propulsion system components and systems.
• Support and witness engine and component development and qualification testing.
• Provide expert input on engineering issue resolution and technical development.

Required Experience:

• Master's degree (MA/MS) in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience in propulsion system engineering.
• Exceptional expertise with T700 and T55 Engines.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Extensive experience with aircraft systems and platforms associated with UH-60, AH-64, and CH-47 aircraft.
• More than 15 years of experience in program management within government or defense sectors.
• PhD in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (in-office and telework), demonstrating flexibility to meet customer requirements.
