Job Summary:

This position is an Associate Db2 and HANA Database Administrator that support the SAP database environment and other database environments as required.

Essential Functions:

• Administer and support Db2 and HANA database environment at CenterPoint Energy. This environment ranges from small databases to multi-terabyte SAP landscapes.
• Perform Db2 and HANA DBA functions for multiple large SAP environments
• New installation and configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, restore, performance tuning, capacity planning, standards development and enforcement
• Support and implement database needs for all purchased and in-house written applications
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as scheduled and off hour problem resolution for all SAP environments as needed.

Education:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university or commensurate technical experience in database administration.

Experience:

• 0-2+ years experience

• Requires experience administering a relational database management system (RDBMS).
• Candidate should have knowledge of Db2 and/or HANA databases.
• Installation and setup of new database environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolution of issues within databases.
• Backup and restoration of databases.
• Experience administering databases which support SAP applications would be a bonus.
