KOMU 8 is looking for a Multimedia Marketing Strategist to join our team of sales and marketing professionals! KOMU 8 is a full-powered NBC and CW affiliate proudly owned by the University of Missouri serving Columbia-Jefferson City, MO. KOMU 8 is an award-winning, nationally recognized organization working to share important stories and effective marketing solutions on all platforms. It is the only network affiliated television station with a dual mission of informing the public and serving as the premier training ground for television journalists with the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism. The station also supports community interests through various public service efforts throughout the year.

KOMU 8 provides a working environment that attracts the best and brightest people. We are searching for a Media Marketing Strategist who is ready to develop client connections and help power our local economy through creative and effective marketing.

As a Multimedia Marketing Strategist, you'll engage with existing and potential clients in Mid-Missouri, helping local businesses realize growth opportunities by exposing them to compelling messaging through customized screen-based advertising solutions. This full array of marketing solutions may include digital platforms like streaming video, search solutions (SEO/SEM), social media strategies, digital display, and e-mail targeting, as well as broadcast television.

We are looking for a passionate, solutions-based individual with strong sales and marketing skills who can develop ideas that produce results for new and existing customers utilizing our multi-platform TV and digital products. Our team collaborates to create successful ideas that provide solutions that work for our clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales and be able to think creatively. We are looking for a dynamic, consultative seller/marketer who is focused on both client and personal achievement.

The successful candidate will manage an existing account list with the responsibility of growing revenue and market share through effective negotiation and product packaging while at the same time developing a new list of clients by providing marketing solutions that utilize our linear television stations and a robust menu of digital products from streaming video to SEO and Facebook. Being detail-oriented and having the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are critical elements of success.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve all broadcast and digital sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Maximize share of business from an assigned list of local and regional accounts
  • Develop new revenue.
  • Establish credible relationships within our business community.
  • Contribute to the creative development of campaigns through client communications and needs analysis, assisting with message creating to provide our production department with necessary information to create messages that provide client results.
  • Review performance analytics that effectively analyze how customer goals were met or exceeded with the goal of increasing retention and upsell.
Shift

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' experience in marketing or sales, preferably in media or digital marketing/sales.
  • College degree in Marketing, Advertising or Strategic Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Understanding of display advertising, email marketing, social and content marketing, SEM, SEO and streaming video a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to hold meaningful conversations with decision makers.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000 yearly
