GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor, provide support to various Dole Fresh Vegetables Fresh Pack business units to ensure the accounting records properly reflect the operation by recording monthly journal entry, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

* Perform journal entries supported by reasonable, accurate, and complete documentation that can be used and followed by other accounting /finance groups with little or no knowledge on the subject.
* Perform balance sheet accounting reconciliation including Inventory.
* Maintain an up-to-date detailed accounting manual and procedures.
* Prepare month and quarter end variance analysis.
* Code and process invoices for submission to accounts payable.
* Assist corporate staff with requests as needed.
* Assist auditors with information as needed.
* Assist Accounting Supervisor with other duties as needed.
* Consistently review accounting procedures and suggest ideas to improve and automate processes.
* Work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional departments including Grower Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Shipping, Receiving and Accounts Receivable.
* Liaison with other departments in accounting/grower payable-related questions.
* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

* 1-2 years accounting/financial analysis experience required.
* Prefer experience in agricultural accounting.
* Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, procedures and application.
* Must have the ability to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
* Strong attention to detail and a desire to assume new responsibilities.
* Organization, attention to detail and the ability to analyze data.
* General knowledge about ERP systems. JD Edwards and Mainframe desired but not required.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn new technology.
* Ability and desired for learning and improving processes.
* Bilingual / Spanish language skills helpful

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
* The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) up to 15 lbs.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to work beyond normal business hours, weekends and some company holidays as needed.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or Finance required

PAY RATE:



  • $75,000 - $80,000 Annually
