Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Lab Technician to join our dynamic team, specializing in the testing and development of pumps and liquid transfer systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical systems, a strong understanding of fluid dynamics, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, you will work closely with engineers to set up experiments, collect data, and maintain laboratory equipment. Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments related to pump and liquid transfer system performance.

  • Set up and operate test equipment, including pumps, flow meters, pressure gauges, and data acquisition systems.

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of lab equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Collect, analyze, and document experimental data, providing clear and detailed reports to the engineering team.

  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret test results and recommend improvements or solutions to technical challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies within the lab environment.

  • Manage the inventory of lab supplies, components, and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.

  • Provide technical support to other departments and contribute to cross-functional projects as required.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and methods in the field of pump and liquid transfer systems.




Requirements:


  • Associate's Degree

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical within the manufacturing
    field


  • 2+ years of experience in the use of typical lab equipment (pressure gages, power supplies, data acquisition systems, power analyzers, etc)



Core Competencies:


  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in various physical positions as required by the lab setup.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify and solve problems effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.




Preferences:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology, fluid mechanics, or a related technical field.

  • Capable of working independently with general supervision.

  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, measurement instruments, and lab equipment.

  • Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, mechanical principles, and testing methodologies.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with data analysis software.




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements


  • Work Environment: This position operates in a laboratory setting with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and fluids.

  • The role routinely requires the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to strict safety protocols.




Pay Range

Starting Pay will range between $36,700 - $76,200. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
