Summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Compensation Manager to join our team. This individual will ideally be based at our Dallas, TX, location, but we will also consider someone in the Atlanta, GA, area.

As a Compensation Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of compensation planning, design, and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of compensation principles, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

This position administers the company's equity plans (LTIP), advises executives regarding current compensation trends, and provides insight to executives on potential opportunities and threats to the business. This role procures the most appropriate salary data sources and utilizes it to implement best practice compensation programs and ensures that company policies and practices are compliant with federal, state, and local laws.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation Management



  • Develop and implement compensation strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Submit appropriate market surveys and analysis to ensure competitive compensation packages.
  • Manage annual compensation review processes, including salary benchmarking, performance-based incentives, and bonus structures.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation.


Cross-functional Collaboration



  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and other departments to align compensation and HR initiatives with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting for compensation-related expenses.
  • Collaborate with UK Group Total Rewards Team to align on administrative elements of compensation and LTIP programs.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management to provide insights and recommendations on compensation.


Data Analysis and Reporting



  • Utilize HCM and other analytical tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to compensation.
  • Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Provide insights to support decision-making processes and drive continuous improvement.


Administration



  • Develops, implements, and documents compensation policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains clear data file management practices including safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Prepares and submits compensation related compliance reporting required by the company.
  • Participates in internal projects such as audits, key control development, and data retention.
  • Maintains history files for all LTIP programs to facilitate annual nominations processes.
  • Problem resolution with LTIP participants and the UK Total Rewards team for 3rd party portal access and administration.


Other compensation related projects as assigned.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, PHR, PMP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in compensation management, including salary benchmarking, incentive design, and compensation planning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HCM and data analysis using Excel pivot tables and VLookups.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to compensation and HR practices.
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
