Overview
Hyland is building the future of intelligent enterprise software. The Lead Experience Designer for Content Intelligence will use expert strengths in usability, visual design, and designing for emerging technologies to architect tools that empower customers to leverage AI within their business software solutions. This role focuses on translating complex AI capabilities into simple, intuitive experiences administrators can seamlessly configure, deploy, manage, and optimize. Role is remote-first and morning availability starts at 8 Eastern Time for collaboration with European and Indian colleagues. This role requires occasional travel to Cleveland or Europe. Pacific Time candidates are less likely to be a schedule fit.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for designing a suite of products that allow administrators to leverage AI inside their solutions.
- Partner closely with your research partner to translate user insights and customer needs into design concepts, journeys, and prototypes using Figma
- Direct and guide complex design projects through complete product lifecycles, connecting experiences across the product portfolio
- Collaborate with senior leadership and executives across the organization to influence vision and strategy across the entire product portfolio
- Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching and guidance to your teammates and cross-disciplinary partners; set the standard for quality of deliverables
- Collaborate with user researchers to plan, develop and execute research to define, optimize and evolve our products; proactively identify research opportunities to address knowledge gaps at the portfolio level Lead the design team in the continual growth and development of the design system; collaborate with leadership in establishing core design principles
- Use storytelling methods to communicate complex concepts and design work to varied audiences across the organization including C-level executives, influencing product strategy and growing organizational understanding
- Provide annotated design specifications and documentation that detail interaction behaviors and acceptance criteria for developers
- Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trend
- Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy
What will make you successful
- Demonstrated experience designing configuration of AI experiences
- Familiarity with a variety of AI models
- Strong visual design acumen
- Flawless UI and microcopy writing
- Excellent UX storytelling as you present your professional portfolio that demonstrates both pragmatic and creative thinking including the ability to work within constraints
- Experience in both enterprise software and consumer-grade experience design
- Proficiency with Figma
- Proven experience creating high-quality and effective design work
- Experience with responsive, mobile, and product design
- Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
- Demonstrated success collaborating with developers, product owners, and executive leadership in defining and designing portfolio vision and strategy with a high level of skill
- Experience working across teams to integrate feedback and input from diverse stakeholders (product managers, engineers, customers, and other stakeholders)
- Experience leading a team of designers in projects that span the complete product design and development lifecycle
- Experience leading design activities within an Agile product delivery methodology Extensive design strategy and thought leadership experience
- Experience shaping a design practice in an organization, including establishment of processes, influencing organizational structure, and defining the strategic role design plays in achieving business goals Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with executive presence
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas, customers, and executives
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment
- Ability to introduce new industry-leading design approaches and methods that drive positive outcomes (efficiency, speed to market, innovation, etc.)
- Ability to provide guidance and support to developing team members
- Ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership across the organization to understand and influence product vision and strategy Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Up to 10% travel time required, depending on location.
Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $157,000-$170,000and eligible for benefits What you can expect next
