As a Therapeutic Activities Worker at SCI Camp Hill, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting inmate progress in accomplishing therapeutic recreation goals. You can expect to contribute to program planning, development, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic recreation. In this position, you will conduct formal assessments of inmates to formulate individualized therapeutic recreation objectives for presentation to a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This will help you determine methods for accomplishing therapeutic goals and coordinate inmate therapeutic activities to be integrated with other treatment disciplines. You will also conduct individual and group therapeutic recreation programs and assessments, provide instruction and support to inmates, and implement and evaluate therapeutic recreation programming. Additionally, you will recommend changes to meet inmates' individual needs and abilities as well as participate in crisis intervention and resolution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; or
• A bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
