JOB PURPOSE
We are currently seeking a Network Engineer II to design, deploy, and maintain complex network infrastructures crucial for operational efficiency and security compliance within DoD environments. This role involves configuring and managing advanced networking hardware, ensuring the systems meet DISA cybersecurity standards. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of producing precise network documentation and enhancing system reliability and security through innovative technical solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex network infrastructures using protocols such as OSPF, IPSEC, GRE, RPVST+, TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, and tunneling
- Administer and maintain both host-based and virtualized networking environments, configuring and troubleshooting as required
- Configure and manage Cisco ASA Firewalls and encryption devices to maintain the security, integrity, and availability of multiple security domains within DoD environments
- Enforce DISA STIG and CTO standards under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) across three accredited networks
- Produce detailed network diagrams, configuration records, and troubleshooting guides using tools like Visio to ensure accurate documentation of all network configurations and processes
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, minimizing downtime through standardized troubleshooting procedures
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve network performance, enhance security, and ensure alignment with operational requirements
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and system administration teams to align network operations with organizational priorities and compliance standards, providing detailed technical reports
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Licensure/Credentials Required:
- This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for continued employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must currently possess a Security+ certification (DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2) or can obtain it within six months of employment
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration and 2 years in network engineering, preferably in a NOC environment
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- DoD IAT Level II certified
- Proficient understanding of networking protocols
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in related field (i.e. networking, computer science, cyber security) preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and frameworks, including SCAP and enforcing DISA STIG compliance within RMF standards
- Advanced knowledge of network management and diagnostic tools, including Nagios, Wireshark, SolarWinds, and SIEM platforms like Splunk
